It implements a novel, streamlined process to create consistent and legally sound medical reports by expert examiners following thorough medical investigations. Lex Medicus has proudly engaged a multidisciplinary team of consultants from several medical specialities including: Orthopaedics, Neurology, Rehabilitation, Psychiatry, Occupational Health, Pain Management, Oncology and more.
Lex Medicus also develops Lex Medicus Online, which allows lawyers and insurers to track the production of medico legal reports at any stage during the process, including the payment of invoices and downloading the complete report.

The brief
Lex Medicus is committed to developing the highest quality business practices. These practices ensure that an optimum working environment is available to staff and the best possible service is provided to clients. As part of this commitment, Lex Medicus decided to develop an integrated management system certified to three of the world’s leading management system standards:
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
- AZ/NZS 48001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management)
- ISO 27001 (Information Security Management)
The solution
Blueprint was engaged to help Lex Medicus implement the ISO 27001 component of the integrated management system. This component was particularly relevant because Lex Medicus stores and processes sensitive client medical and legal information. Ensuring the security of this information is vital to the business. The ISMS was developed at the same time as the OHS and quality management systems to ensure a cohesive and truly integrated management system.
Lex Medicus is a dynamic company with a very energetic management team. Blueprint was asked to develop the ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) in a very short time frame. We jumped at the challenge. It took just 2 months from the initial workshop to the certification audit. The auditor commented that this is the fastest turnaround he had ever seen and that the management systems had advanced the business in “quantum leaps”.
The implementation of the ISMS, and its certification to ISO 27001, will provide assurance to clients that Lex Medicus is dedicated to the secure handling and storage of information and has implemented a well-managed, international best practice management system to achieve this goal.
We have been very impressed with the way Blueprint were able to quickly pick up the key aspects of our business, write and implement our suite of ISO Information Security Management documents in such a short period of time.
