How we helped them
How we helped
Mitchell Shire Council provides a wide range of community services. Disruption to the continuity of these services could have a significant adverse impact on the community and prevent the council from meeting its obligations. As such, the Council is committed to building resilience into its critical operations. The Local Government Act 1989 requires local councils to develop and maintain adequate internal control systems. Business continuity plans are widely recognised as critical elements of such systems.
Mitchell Shire Council engaged Blueprint to redevelop their Business Continuity Plan. The existing plan was completely rewritten to improve the clarity, reduce duplication and include additional recovery procedures. The structure and flow of the plan was improved and clear roles and responsibilities were defined for each step of the plan. The recovery procedures were verified to ensure that they were achievable and would be effective. The result was a clear and concise plan that could be used to quickly recovery critical operations following a disruptive event.
Blueprint Information Security assisted Mitchell Shire Council in the review of our Business Continuity Plan. Blueprint provided clarification and a simple easy to read process to assist Council in building resilience in the face of disaster. A timeline was developed which Blueprint committed to and did not deviate from, allowing for the Business Continuity Plan review to be submitted within plenty of time for scheduled Council meetings. Blueprint Information Security would be able to provide the same service to any business or Local Government Authority requiring development or review of a Business Continuity Plan.
